The overall flood risk for today is forecast as LOW, the following report is from the Meet Office:

An incursion of warm, high-humidity air across the region always provides the potential, at this time of year, for very heavy downpours and localised surface water flooding, as yesterday evening’s events in Belfast testify.

Later this morning a band of showery rain will transfer northeastwards across the region as the warm, humid airmass is slowly displaced away to the east. However, within this band of rain there is scope for some localised torrential downpours, possibly accompanied by lightning and thunder. As is so often the case there will be something of a hit ‘n miss nature to the rain, some areas seeing very little, others perhaps catching a deluge in a relatively short space of time. Should any downpours materlialise the sheer intensity of the rainfall could easily overwhelm local drainage capacity and result in temporary surface water flooding and related issues, particularly in the more urban areas where disruption to transport could arise in a very short space of time. Even in the more rural areas key access roads could fall victim to short-notice flooding. Unfortunately we can’t pinpoint the areas most at risk, even at this late stage, and thus need to alert the whole of the region to the possibility. Later this afternoon and into the evening any remaining heavy showers and thunderstorms should move off across the Pennines.

Late yesterday evening the Flood Forecasting Centre issued a revised Flood Guidance Statement (attached above) to highlight the risk from surface water flooding during tomorrow. The Met Office have also issued a Yellow Warning for rain (also attached above), valid from 0600 this morning up til midnight.

Beyond today, although continuing unsettled with further rain at times, freshening winds and cooler/fresher temperatures, no further severe weather is currently anticipated across the Northwest.
